As mentioned in previous posts, we kicked off the new “Reaching Level 3” multi-client research project last week.
I’m hoping that participating companies will join me on this blog – I’ve raised many “reaching level 3″ type questions and issues over the last couple of months, and look forward to engaging interested IT professionals in this global conversation.
I won’t repeat the disclaimer, but will remind you that this blog presents my personal views. You should also note that from time to time, I will cite real life consulting/client situations so as to better illustrate a point. When I do so, I will never reference the client name, and will usually change one or more details that are not salient, in order to protect client and/or individual identities.
One “sticking point” that surfaced during the Member roundtable during the kick-off meeting was IT funding models. I agree that this is a real problem for most shops – in fact, I posted on this very issue some time back – my thoughts have not changed regarding the problem, but I do believe we are going to have to be quite creative to find solutions to the funding problem. Ideas on a postcard, please!
