When you chose one side, you are rejecting the other side = winners and losers. With some of these situations, it helps to remind the parties that there is only one stock ticker symbol (assuming a public company) so, to your old saw, it may cost ‘me’ money, but it will save the enterprise money (or release some source of value). An implication, therefore, may be some kind of adjustment to IT funding to ‘relieve’ any unfair inbalance of cost introduced by the Principle.
