My organization previously considered IT as simply a pass through cost.
I have worked to educate that it is a critical investment (even for a small business such as ours)
My work now is educating on the manageing of that investment better!

Nicely stated! I’ve believed for many years that one of the key roles for a CIO (or any IT leader) is educating their business partners in the “ways of business value realization through information and IT.”
