Thanks, Brad! And, I believe that understanding the 'forming, storming, norming and performing' phases can be helpful in getting a team to reach their optimal performance stage.

Similarly, understanding the Kubler-Ross stages as reactions to deeply unwelcome news can help an experienced leader/coach/mentor take someone through these stages to acceptance and the chance to move on.

The academic models are helpful - the opportunity to learn them and practice them in a 'safe' environment outside the workplace is golden! (Though I'm not sure the stage at the Cavern, Liverpool could be thought of as a 'safe' place to screw up!)

Hey Vaughan,
Wow! You continue to amaze me. They might pay me to stay away from any sort of instrument - but your observations on team building are spot on. Personally, I'd love to skip the "storming" part... but alas, it is a part of the process.

Thanks, Steve! Do look into the camps - there's no minimum playing level! Some folk just go as tambourine players! With 30 years behind you, you'll have a blast!

Excellent post! I'm envious that you have been able to play with greats like Molland and Slash. I'm a huge Badfinger fan and one of my garage bands (in the 80s) played a few of their songs (Baby Blue, Just a Chance).

Love the comment about the band looking like they're having a good time - we were always able to cover up our lesser talents with our displays of pure enjoyment.

I need to look into the camps your refer to - is there a minimum playing level? I've played for 30 years, but you wouldn't know it!

Thanks again, Vaughan!

Thanks, Carol. There are several way to subscribe. The easiest was is to click on the 'Subscribe in a reader' which you will find in the right hand column near the top. From that you can get posts emailed to you, or automatically sent to a reader such as Google Reader which you can get free from Google.

But I warn you - most posts in my blog are far more dull and boring than the occasional Rock 'n' Roll post!
